Infineon Technologies AG has launched its latest product line - CoolGaN ™ 700 V G4 series transistor. These devices exhibit excellent electrical energy conversion efficiency in a voltage range of up to 700 V. Compared to their competitors' GaN devices, these transistors have improved input and output performance by 20%, thereby improving efficiency, reducing power loss, and providing a more economical solution.
The perfect combination of electrical performance and packaging ensures optimal functionality in various applications, including consumer chargers and laptop adapters, data center power supplies, renewable energy converters, and battery storage.
This series of products includes 13 devices with a rated voltage of 700 V and a conduction resistance range from 20 m Ω to 315 m Ω. The device specifications are highly detailed and offer a variety of packaging options that meet industry standards, such as PDFN, TOLL, and TOLT, allowing for the selection of appropriate RDS (on) resistors and packaging based on unique application requirements. Therefore, the performance of electrical and thermal systems can be maximized and achieved in the most cost-effective way.
These devices have fast opening and closing times, as well as negligible losses during the switching process. The conduction resistance range allows the power system to range from 20 W to 25000 W. In addition, the 700 V Enhanced Mode (E-mode) has the industry's highest transient voltage of 850 V, thereby enhancing the reliability of the entire system by providing excellent resistance to irregular situations such as voltage surges in the user environment.
CoolGaN ™ The 700 V G4 series products currently come in TOLL, PDFN 56, and 88 packages. Later this year, there will be more options for RDS (on) and TOLT packaging.
