Infineon Technologies expands its seventh generation TRENCHSTOP ™ The IGBT7 product series has launched CIPOS, which is suitable for low-power motor drives ™ Maxi Intelligent Power module (IPM) series. The new IM12BxxxC1 series adopts advanced TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 1200 V and fast diode EmCon 7 technology.

The excellent control capability and performance of this product are attributed to its latest micro groove design. Therefore, power loss is significantly reduced, efficiency is improved, and power density is increased. This series includes three new devices with a rated current range of 10 A to 20 A, capable of providing up to 4.0 kW of power. The product models include IM12B10CC1, IM12B15CC1, and IM12B20EC1.

The IM12BxxxC1 series adopts DIP 36x23D packaging. The integration of multiple power and control components improves reliability, optimizes PCB space, and reduces system costs. With the best power density and performance among its peers, this package is the smallest 1200 V IPM package on the market. The IM12BxxxC1 series is designed for low-power drives in various applications, including motors, pumps, fans, heat pumps, and outdoor fans for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

The new series of IPMs adopts a dual in-line molded housing with insulation properties, ensuring excellent thermal performance and electrical isolation. In addition, it meets the electromagnetic interference (EMI) and overload protection standards for complex designs. In addition, IPM is equipped with a separate temperature thermistor and has obtained UL certification, further enhancing its protective characteristics.

CIPOS ™ Maxi integrates a durable 6-channel SOI gate driver with integrated dead time characteristics to prevent damage caused by transients. This device provides undervoltage locking function for all channels and has a shutdown mechanism in case of overcurrent. Due to its multifunctional pins, this IPM provides significant design freedom for multiple purposes. This device provides access to the low side emitter pin for easy monitoring of all phase currents.
