Mitsubishi Electric, a power solution brand of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Limited, has received an order to install natural gas turbine combined cycle power generation system equIPMent for Unit 13 of Nam Yam Power Station, to be built by Hong Kong Electric Power Company in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong Electric Company Limited, the new unit has a power generation capacity of 380 MW and is scheduled to start operation in early 2029. Starting from July 2015, after the orders for units 10, 11, and 12, the delivery of ground power generation equipment to Nanya Power Station will be a continuous order.
The newly ordered power generation facilities will be built on Lamma Island, located in the southwest of Hong Kong Island, adjacent to the existing Units 9, 10, 11, and 12. This project is part of a large-scale project that aligns with the Hong Kong government's efforts to increase gas-fired power generation, as natural gas is an energy conversion fuel that provides benefits such as reducing carbon emissions, thereby reducing its impact on the environment.
Among the main equipment of the newly ordered GTCC power generation system, Mitsubishi Electric Power Company will manufacture and supply its M701F gas turbine, a steam turbine, a heat recovery steam generator, and a selective catalytic reduction system. The generator will be manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric Company.
A new company headquartered in Hyogo ku, Kobe City was established on April 1st through MHH and Mitsubishi Electric's generator system integration business. Once the new facilities are put into operation, they will respond to the strong electricity demand on Hong Kong Island.
Hong Kong Power is one of the main electricity suppliers in Hong Kong and the only electricity supplier on Hong Kong Island and Lamma Island. Mitsubishi Electric and Hong Kong Electric have had a long-standing business relationship, delivering many core components of the power generation system, including gas turbines, steam turbines, and boilers, to the Lamma Power Station. It can be said that this latest order also reflects our high evaluation and verified record of the excellent performance of Mitsubishi Electric's products.
Looking into the future, the entire multilateral health initiative group will continue to focus on promoting the adoption of efficient and environmentally friendly global trading point center power generation systems, promoting stable energy supply, which is a fundamental element of economic development around the world, and promoting the establishment of sustainable zero carbon societies.
