Duntai Electronics, a leading global research and development company for multi finger touch technology for capacitive screens
Duntai was founded in Silicon Valley, USA in 2005 and has rapidly developed into a leading global provider of human-machine interface solutions. It was listed on the "Top 10 Chinese Integrated Circuit Design Enterprises" in 2016 and 2017.
The company has a total of over 800 employees and is committed to providing highly competitive 2D/3D touch solutions, display driver solutions, integrated single chip touch display solutions (IDC), and fingerprint recognition solutions for mobile electronic devices. Its sales network covers the world, with an annual shIPMent volume of over 700 million pieces. The shipment volume of touch chips has been leading the industry for many consecutive years.
Duntai Electronics Co., Ltd. was established in the United States in 2005, dedicated to the research and development of human-machine interface solutions, providing highly competitive capacitive screen touch chips, TFT LCD display driver chips, integrated touch display single chips (supporting embedded panel IDC), fingerprint recognition chips, and pressure touch chips for mobile electronic devices.
Duntai is one of the world's leading companies engaged in the research and development of multi finger touch technology for capacitive screens. It is also one of the top suppliers of capacitive screen touch chips in terms of global shipment volume. It can support various structures, processes, and materials for capacitive screens ranging from 1 inch to 25 inches, providing users with a complete global capacitive screen touch solution. Duntai adheres to independent research and development, with over 700 domestic and foreign technology patents. In addition to supporting traditional touch modules, Duntai has developed advanced and mass-produced solutions that can effectively meet the needs of lightweight touch screens in the In cell and On cell fields with high technological barriers, leading the world in multiple technologies.
Duntai has been engaged in the research and development, production, and sales of TFT LCD display driver chips since its establishment. In January 2015, it officially acquired well-known display driver chip manufacturer Orise Tech, greatly strengthening its leading position in this field, providing comprehensive LCD display driver solutions for global users, and laying a more solid foundation in new technology fields such as IP, image processing algorithms, digital signal processing, analog circuits, and energy conservation.
With a deep accumulation in touch and display fields, Duntai is committed to the development of new technologies in the field of human-computer interaction. In 2015, it successively launched industry-leading fingerprint recognition solutions and 3D multi touch single chip solutions. Fingerprint recognition field: providing a comprehensive product layout and excellent user experience. 3D touch field: Leading the industry in launching high-performance solutions that can support both Multi touch and multi-point pressure touch on a single chip. It can simultaneously recognize pressure operations of two fingers with different forces, advancing pressure touch technology to the era of multi-point.
Duntai's independently developed Super In cell technology innovates traditional self capacitive technology, retaining the advantages of simple self capacitive architecture, breaking through traditional self capacitive detection technology to achieve multi touch, and can be applied to various panel display technologies such as Amorphous and LTPS, with excellent performance. Super In cell touch screen integration technology is different from traditional touch screen separation technology that uses multiple ICs. Only one integrated chip (IDC) is needed to drive the touch screen integrated panel, and it can simplify the originally complex supply chain, thereby saving a lot of production costs and providing the industry with a more cost-effective high-end solution choice.
Duntai adheres to the action principle of "customer-oriented" and has established technical support outlets in core service areas since its establishment. With the expansion of its business, it has continuously added new sales and technical service networks worldwide, aiming to provide convenient and efficient local technical support services for customers at home and abroad, and provide solid technical support for over 2.5 billion mobile intelligent terminal devices using Duntai technology solutions worldwide.
Duntai upholds its ideals and emotions for the future, and holds the ambition and vision of opening a new chapter in the glory of inheritance. Duntai Construction is a team full of young vitality and enthusiasm, and also has a good history. It was independently founded in 2013 by the founder of the American returnees with a background in architecture, family studies, and three generations of family business history. Duntai has a heart, a heart, a heart, and a heart, a heart, and a heart. Adhering to conscience, with the original intention of being good to people and the earth as the original intention, with a diligent and pragmatic attitude, and with the mission of creating and sustaining prosperity and peace for people and the environment. Duntai is willing to think humbly with an international perspective and a humanistic spirit, build a professional team that constantly surpasses itself, meet the highest standards of self demand at all times, establish sustainable brand value, and become an excellent institution that creates high-quality products for customers and value for society.
Recent updates
Duntai announced that its own OLED DDI will enter mass production in 2024. As for the Chinese automotive market, Duntai mentioned that it is currently in a stagnant state.
The AMOLED market is gradually becoming a prominent player in the panel industry, driving chip designers to enter on a large scale, especially in the mobile phone sector where the introduction of AMOLED will be more obvious. Regarding the OLED DDI sector, Duntai mentioned that it is continuously developing and is being verified with panel manufacturers. It is expected to enter mass production in 2024. We mainly use 40 nanometer wafers for foundry production, and there are Taiwanese and mainland manufacturers collaborating on wafer foundry.
Duntai also added that there has been no significant recovery in the mobile phone market recently, and TDDI lacks momentum. As the production proportion of AMOLED panel factories in China increases, the company's OLED touch IC shipments also grow together. Duntai also added that OLED panels for mobile phones have been rapidly replaced by flexibility, and the market share of flexibility produced in South Korea has gradually been surpassed by flexibility in China. Duntai OLED touch IC shipments will grow with panel specifications conversion, and shipments will significantly increase in the fourth quarter of this year.
Finally, in terms of the automotive market, Duntai stated that the growth rate in the first half of this year was decent, but from mid second quarter to early third quarter, the growth of the Chinese automotive market has stagnated somewhat, unlike last year and the first half of this year. It is speculated that this may be due to Tesla's price reduction measures, but future growth can still be expected.
